Welcome to Luminous Japan
One of my favorite things about winter in Japan is how quickly the mood changes once the sun goes down. A quiet street can feel completely different when the lanterns come on, casting warm light across shop windows, restaurant entrances, and snowy sidewalks. There's something comforting about following that glow through the evening, especially when you know there's somewhere warm waiting at the end of the walk.
For this year's advent calendar, we wanted to capture a little of that feeling. Inside, you'll find 24 days of Japanese snacks, teas, and holiday surprises, each chosen to bring a bit of warmth and curiosity to the season. Some may be familiar favorites, while others might introduce you to something you've never tried before.
